The Ohio Chapter partners with a Cleveland entity, Medwish, that collects and stores surplus but non-expired hospital equipment for transport to sites outside the USA. .  We schedule packing events at their warehouse to collect needed materials from sterile drapes to  medical and surgical supplies of a broad variety.  Last Saturday ( 03/19) over 90 volunteers from as far as Buffalo NY and Cincinnati  OH helped to pack   27 pallets ( previous collection efforts averaged 3-5 pallets) in a single event.  These are on their way to sites in Poland for further distribution – under the auspices of the Ministry of Health.  We expect similar activity in the future; along with direct purchases of needed devices as funds allow.  –  UMANA-Ohio has received, organized and sent equipment, principally critical care equipment from ICU’s, from University Hospital  Med Center  ( Case Western Reserve ). These supplies were combined with those of  Medwish  and are also in transit.
